HIF’s athletic department and the local golf club in Vulpera have engaged in a close collaboration to offer young athletes optimal training facilities and support allowing them to combine their passion for golf and school.
Founded in 1923, Golf Club Vulpera is one of Switzerland’s oldest golf courses. It is a well groomed 9 hole golf course situated at 1270 MaS. Its narrow and wooded fairways are hilly and narrow, and together with its small greens are challenging and demand precision.
Athletes choose one of HIF’s academic programs, are members of the athletic department and can enjoy unlimited access and use of the golf club’s training facilities.
Weight, fitness, endurance and coordination training of golf-interested students take place on the school’s premises while golf pro Edward Hoenjet is responsible for all golf-related training aspects.
The training schedule is individually prepared and developed according to the needs of each student, and includes the possibility to train in smaller or larger groups. On schooldays, training unities take place on a daily basis and are coordinated with the classroom schedule.
