At HIF Camps, we see every child’s experience as a shared journey between families and our mountain community. To help ensure a safe, joyful, and enriching time for all, we ask parents and guardians to read and agree to the following commitments.
1. Partnership and Trust
We trust the expertise, care, and professionalism of the HIF team. Once camp begins, we allow staff to lead, support, and guide our children through each part of the experience without interference, while staying confident that safety and wellbeing are always the top priority.
2. Respectful Communication
We communicate with staff in a spirit of respect, patience, and understanding. We use the designated contact channels and times provided, knowing that the team’s focus during camp is on the children’s care and learning.
3. Support for Independence
We understand that camp is an opportunity for growth, independence, and resilience. We encourage our child to embrace this, to try new things, and to work through challenges with the support of the HIF team.
4. Health, Safety, and Wellbeing
We provide accurate and complete information about our child’s health, dietary needs, allergies, or any other factors that may affect their participation. We ensure any required medication or documentation is submitted before arrival. We understand that failure to disclose them may result in possible removal from the camp, at the discretion of the Camp Director.
5. Behaviour and Conduct
We have reviewed the HIF Camps Behavioural Expectations with our child and will support them in upholding these standards. We understand that failure to meet them may result in consequences, including possible removal from the camp, at the discretion of the Camp Director.
6. Environmental Stewardship
We support HIF’s commitment to sustainability and care for the environment. We help our child arrive prepared to respect nature and the local community, packing responsibly and minimising unnecessary waste.
7. Digital Etiquette
We understand that campers’ phones are collected and kept by staff, with scheduled times for use. We respect this approach and will not attempt to contact our child outside of these times, except in emergencies.
8. Punctuality and Preparedness
We ensure our child arrives and departs on time, with all required equipment, documents, and travel arrangements confirmed in advance.
9. Emergencies and Decisions
In the event of illness, injury, or behavioural concerns, we will be available for contact and will cooperate fully with the HIF team. We understand that staff may need to make timely decisions to protect the wellbeing of all campers.
10. Shared Spirit
We recognise that camp is more than a programme; it’s a community built on trust, respect, and care. We commit to supporting these values before, during, and after our child’s time at HIF.
