Wholesome, sustainable food is essential to the healthy development of our students and athletes. A well-balanced, nutrient-rich diet supports physical growth, strengthens the immune system, and fuels both focus and cognitive performance – providing the energy young people need for active lifestyles and engaged learning.
Food at HIF does more than fuel the day – it builds lifelong habits. It’s a foundation for health, connection, and performance.
At HIF, our meals are prepared with carefully selected, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. This commitment reflects not only our environmental values, but also our educational ethos: to nourish mind and body with intention and care. Our menus feature whole foods – fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and healthy fats – that promote wellbeing, resilience, and athletic performance.

Meal times at HIF are an important part of the day – not just for fuelling up, but for catching up. Students and staff come together, share what’s going on, make plans, and enjoy a bit of noise and laughter. We cook with seasonal, local ingredients where we can, and stick to quality producers from Switzerland when we can’t. And the view from the dining hall isn’t bad either.
