• Nordic Skiing

    Weight and off snow training as well as on snow and roller ski training take place in-house or in the immediate vicinity of the school. The demanding cross country skiing track, named after our former student and Olympic champion Dario Cologna, passes right by the school. The less ascending but significantly longer tracks begin in Scuol and lead all the way to the Swiss border town Martina.

    Various glacier skiing resorts including Stelvio, Schnalstal, Pitztal, and Kaunertal can be reached in a 1 to 2.5-hour drive and offer perfect training options during springtime and autumn.

    Biathletes can shoot on two targets at the Dario Cologna skiing track during the winter season. During summer, they have the possibility to rifle shoot at nearby Sclamischot.

    Our training facilities include a gym featuring trampoline and airtrack, ergometer, weight and gymnastics room, therapy room, two tennis courts, football field, 100 m sprint track, skateboard mini ramp, slackline, outdoor trampoline as well as countless bike and hiking trails at the school’s doorstep.

    Training SChedule

    The training schedule is prepared individually and developed according to the needs of each student. On school days, training units take place on a daily basis and are adjusted to the classroom schedule. During some holidays, the sports academy also organises training camps.

  • Alpine Skiing

    Off-snow training such as weight, fitness, endurance and coordination training take place on the school’s premises. In-house facilities include a large gym featuring trampoline and airtrack, ergometers, weight and gymnastics room, a therapy room, two tennis courts, one football field, a 100 m sprint track, a skateboard mini ramp, slackline, outdoor trampolines as well as countless bike and hiking trails at the school’s doorstep.

    On-snow training takes place in the local ski resort Scuol Motta Naluns or nearby Samnaun Ischgl where skiers can use the centrally-located and floodlit competitive slope.

  • Snowboard Freestyle

    Off-snow training such as weight, fitness, endurance and coordination training take place on the school’s premises. In-house facilities include a large gym featuring trampoline and airtrack, ergometers, weight and gymnastics room, a therapy room, two tennis courts, one football field, a 100 m sprint track, a skateboard mini ramp, slackline, outdoor trampolines as well as countless bike and hiking trails at the school’s doorstep

    On-snow training takes place at the Funpark of the local ski resort Scuol Motta Naluns or nearby Samnaun Ischgl as well as in Tarasp, where a local floodlit run allows for night sessions.

    Additional snowparks in Davos, Laax and St. Moritz/Corvatsch as well as an indoor facility in Davos, glacier skiing resorts such as Stelvio, Schnalstal, Pitztal, and Kaunertal are easily accessible and represent perfect training options during springtime and autumn.

  • Ice Hockey

    HIF Sports Academy and the Ice Hockey Club Engiadina (Club da Hockey Engiadina – CdHE), based in Scuol, have engaged in close collaboration to offer young athletes ideal training facilities and support allowing them to combine education and their passion for ice hockey.

    COMPETITIVE TRAINING AND GAMES
    Athletes choose one of the academic programs at HIF, are members of the Sports Academy ice hockey team and they can also train and play for the CdHE with the team of their age group.

    Female athletes have the possibility to train and play with the ladies team "Chicas". The "Chicas" play in the Swiss Women’s Ice Hockey League (SWHL). A Swiss Ice Hockey Federation license is necessary in order to play in the championships mentioned above.

    Similar to the other teams of HIF Sports Academy, the training of weight, fitness, endurance and coordination for ice hockey players take place on the school’s premises.

    Oldrich Jindra, full-time coach of CdHE is in charge of all on-ice training units, covering any kind of specific ice hockey skills. Jindra has international coaching expertise from Switzerland and Austria and is furthermore employed by the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation as well as the Grison Ice Hockey Association (GRHOCKEY).

    PROFESSIONAL FACILITIES AT THE ICE STADIUM SCUOL
    On-ice training takes place at the ice stadium in nearby Scuol. The ice field is prepared from July till March and thus provides ideal training possibilities during summer and winter months. A synthetic ice field, a weight room, the Ochsner pro shop, locker rooms and a restaurant round up the stadiums' facilities.

  • Athletic Training

    In addition to the specific sports focusing on competition, HIF Sports Academy also offers an option for less ambitious students who take joy in exercise, fitness and a healthy balance between school and sports. This program features several training units of fitness, coordination and strength each school week.

    Whenever reasonable, our training groups are mixed with competitive athletes from different sports and students attending the leisure fitness program.
