HIF Swiss International School offers some of the world's leading programmes of study recognised for admission by top universities in the USA, the UK, Switzerland and worldwide. The International Baccalaureate Organisation and the University of Cambridge are two of the most widely-respected names in international education. The qualifications they offer to HIF school graduates are designed to meet the educational and professional demands of the 21st century.
Path of study: IGCSE to IB Diploma
Direct admission is possible to Pre-IGCSE Programme either in grade 7 or in grade 8, depending on completed years of school, age, language skills and suitability. We require a minimum of A2 level of English or German knowledge to start the admissions process. The International Lower Secondary programme is good preparation for admission to the IGCSE in grade 9. Our Pre-IGCSE 1 course is an intensive English language preparation for international studies.
Cambridge IGSCE offers students a broad, general education, challenging and rich in knowledge but based on a varied classroom approach. This gives students with a range of learning preferences the opportunity to succeed. It is ideal preparation for the IB Diploma Programme in grade 11. All international programmes can be combined with HIF Sports Academy training.
Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma – ideal partners
HIF has chosen two of the most highly-respected names in international education for its pre-university courses of study: Cambridge Assessment and the International Baccalaureate Organisation. The qualifications they offer to HIF school leavers – the IGCSE and IB Diploma - are designed to meet the educational and professional challenges of the 21st century.
The following comparison demonstrates just how closely aligned the two programmes are, with students progressing smoothly from Grades 9 and 10 IGCSE classes to their graduation with the IB Diploma at the end of Grade 12.
The HIF Campus extends along the mountain side at 1'700 m above sea level, high above the valley. From the window you look out at a grandiose panorama of southern alpine peaks that stretches away into the distance. The Campus is home to a community of young people from around the world. This vibrant campus community thrives on its diversity, tolerance and a shared sense of belonging. For many months of the year HIF is literally ‘home’ to most of its students: those who live in one of the boarding houses.
